Mai Poina Ka Makou 'Ohana 'Aha

Aloha Mai Kakou!

Don’t forget our family meeting on November 29, 2009 Sunday at 1000 AM at Kupuna Nohea Daniel’s house in Kunia. For those of you didn’t give us your approximate head count, please do so. We need 13 & up, 5 to 12 & 4 & under. We did want all of this in before our meeting. We need to know how many people are attending because the food for Saturday, the tables & chairs, tents & how much to charge per head depends on our head count. Everything should be finalized at this meeting.

As for the t-shirts, I don’t have a photo to send out at this time but will as soon as I get one. All I can do is describe what it might look like. The front on the t-shirt is supposed to have Koko’s talking stick with the mo’o on it. That should be a wood color. The back should have a design on it. It should have either Kame’ekua or Pe’eluakoloia’ao ‘Ohana on the shirt, depends what you ordered, one or the other or both. The t-shirts are yellow with the black design with Koko’s talking stick a wood color. La Ho’omaka’i ia Ko’u ‘Ohana! ( Happy Thanksgiving to my ‘Ohana)

New T-Shirt Form

Aloha Mai Kakou!

I have created a new T-Shirt order form with all sizes confirmed. The form will be attached to this email. You may fill out the form on line & it will do everything automatically. You may then print out form and send it to me with your check or you may send form back to me by email & send your check by mail and after it clears, I will mark you down as paid. You may also email me your order & send your check and I will print it out for those of you who are having trouble opening the document. You will need Microsoft Excel in order to open this document. T-shirts will have Kame’ekua or Pe’eluakoloia’ao. You will choose either name or both if you like. There will be two forms for either name should you want two T-shirts, one T-shirt with each name. When you open the form, if you look at the form, the names will be on the bottom. Just click on the name you wish to have. If you would like T-shirts from both names, just fill in both forms and it will calculate both forms on Amount Due. Those of you have submitted kid sizes; please break it down for me because the first forms I sent out only had kids. The new form is broken down to four sizes for kids. You may also just print out the form for anyone who doesn’t have a computer. I also will have forms at the next meeting and also send out to ‘Ohana that doesn’t have email addresses. The shirts are pre-shrunk.

Also for those who didn’t give me an approximate head count, please give me one as soon as possible. 13 & up, 5 to 12 & 4 & under. We need an approximate head count as to how many members will attend in order to come out with what to charge for Saturdays Pa’ina. If you have any questions, I’ll be glad to try and answer them as best as I can.

Kahi Helu

Aloha Mai Kakou!
At this time I need a head count of who intends to come to our reunion. For those who I already contacted, please disregard this email. You need to separate everyone coming. The categories are 13 & up, 4 to 12 & 4 & under. Please give me a head count as soon as you can so that we may know about how many people will attend. It will be on February 12, 13 & 14, 2010 at Ma’ili Beach Park. Potluck will be Friday & Sunday. Saturday we intend to make our own instead of catering. This will save us on cost & keep it low as possible. We will also need volunteers to help with the prepping & cooking, etc. We need all the help we can get. Also camping will be allowed in our designated area that we have. Any suggestions are welcome. Mahalo Nui Loa!

I have revised the ‘Ohana Reunion List so it would be much easier to check for names. I now have it in alphabetical order by last names. Should you find any errors or your name was left out, please let me know. Most children and husbands are included as ‘Ohana. This would make it less complicated. Mahalo nui loa!

Aloha Mai Kakou!

I am forwarding information to the 'Ohana about Pali!

This is what I got from Augie:

From what I understand they are going to have a memorial for Aunty on Mother's day weekend. Her body has been donated to the university and after her remains are returned they will memorialize her. I'm so glad you contacted me I was thinking that we the Willis Ohana need to remember her and what she meant to this Ohana.

This was from Garick Nakagawa.

'Ohana Reunion Meeting

Date: January 25, 2008
Place: Garden Grove Pavilion (Nanakuli) Home of Rose L. Tuvale
Started: 1:00 PM

Our meeting opened with a song “Ano Ai” and doxology “Hoonani” our opening prayer was given by Emma M. Sarono (Baker). Cousin Sanford opened up with our family reunion planning. The month, year and date were the first to be asked of what we should vote for. The month of February was voted, the year 2010, the date 12, 13 and 14. Everyone was in favor! The dates 11 and 15 were added because it’s a holiday, Presidents Day. So for those who want to stay from the 11-15 must register. Location is undetermined at this time, still in progress. Next was the color of ‘Ohana tee shirts. The colors gold or yellow and black were voted, everyone was in favor. Our tee shirts will be Saffron Yellow (Gold) with black prints. Keoki Ki’ili volunteered to do the shirts and logo for our family reunion. The logo will reflect something of yesterday and today.
Workshop will be of woodcraft By Keoki or Rodney which will emphasize our Hawaiian Culture and storytelling. If anyone has other ideas please let us know, especially the committee representative. The tent will be set-up for first aid and genealogy.

Accommodations are not provided, everyone must find somewhere to stay, and rather it is with their Ohana or hotel. After or before our family reunion, pot luck will be Friday and Sunday. Planning to have catering for Saturday when the location is determined.
We will discuss the entertainment portion at the next meeting July 18, 2009 at the army rest camp in Waianae.

Nalani moved to close, sister May seconded. Closed with Hawaii Nei.

Aloha Mai Kakou!

This a reminder about our meeting this coming Sunday, January 25, 2009 At Waianae. There is parking in the area for guests. There should be a lot of guest parking as I was told.
