'Ohana Reunion Meeting

Date: January 25, 2008
Place: Garden Grove Pavilion (Nanakuli) Home of Rose L. Tuvale
Started: 1:00 PM

Our meeting opened with a song “Ano Ai” and doxology “Hoonani” our opening prayer was given by Emma M. Sarono (Baker). Cousin Sanford opened up with our family reunion planning. The month, year and date were the first to be asked of what we should vote for. The month of February was voted, the year 2010, the date 12, 13 and 14. Everyone was in favor! The dates 11 and 15 were added because it’s a holiday, Presidents Day. So for those who want to stay from the 11-15 must register. Location is undetermined at this time, still in progress. Next was the color of ‘Ohana tee shirts. The colors gold or yellow and black were voted, everyone was in favor. Our tee shirts will be Saffron Yellow (Gold) with black prints. Keoki Ki’ili volunteered to do the shirts and logo for our family reunion. The logo will reflect something of yesterday and today.
Workshop will be of woodcraft By Keoki or Rodney which will emphasize our Hawaiian Culture and storytelling. If anyone has other ideas please let us know, especially the committee representative. The tent will be set-up for first aid and genealogy.

Accommodations are not provided, everyone must find somewhere to stay, and rather it is with their Ohana or hotel. After or before our family reunion, pot luck will be Friday and Sunday. Planning to have catering for Saturday when the location is determined.
We will discuss the entertainment portion at the next meeting July 18, 2009 at the army rest camp in Waianae.

Nalani moved to close, sister May seconded. Closed with Hawaii Nei.
Emma Sarono
